Anatomy (for yoga teachers)
Transform how you understand, see, and teach the body.
(without memorizing a single Latin word you’ll never actually use in class)
Anatomy for Yoga Teachers is a 25 hour practical, flexible online learning course designed to help you understand how anatomy, biomechanics, and movement science apply to the real-deal yoga you teach - and the students you teach it to.
Whether you’re a new or experienced teacher, this course is designed to help you move beyond just memorizing muscles and mysterious alignment rules from generations past.
Sometimes we don’t even know what we don’t know - but if we don’t know whats happening in the body, then how can we speak to it? Speaking, sequencing, and supporting our students suddenly gets infinitely easier when we trust our depth of knowledge. You don’t have to be a PhD or a Rocket Scientist to get this stuff (we promise!)
THIS COURSE IS PROBABLY FOR YOU IF:
✅ You’ve decided you’re “just not an anatomy person” because it hasn’t quite stuck yet
✅ You’re wondering how you’ll ever actually teach this stuff in a real class
✅ You’re ready to move beyond all the alignment “rules” and see what’s really going on
✅ You care about your students’ bodies and want to meet them where they are
✅ You want a practical, embodied understanding of movement that you can apply immediately
✅ You want to up-level your verbal cueing to help students (and yourself!) understand their bodies

here’s why this stuff is important for every yoga teacher:
Memorizing ≠ Understanding
Because knowing every single muscle name doesn’t actually make you a better teacher. or prevent injuries. or help you understand your body. Everything here is very intentionally applied through the lens of Yoga Asana, Exercise, and Movement.
Confidence is built on knowledge
Learn how to see movement patterns, offer smarter cues, and teach anatomy and alignment as tools, not do-or-die rules.
Turns out, it’s pretty hard to know what to say in class - if you don’t actually know enough about what you’re teaching in class!
It’s Real-World Anatomy
Understand bones, joints, muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and the nervous system - in ways that apply to your students right here, right now.
Together we learn the foundations, get a wrangle on the lingo, and then explore the vast universe of anatomy with the guidance of a veteran Yoga teacher (me!)
What we’re learning
🌿 The systems that shape movement
Bones, joints, muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and the nervous system - explained clearly, with less medical technical overwhelm and more practical application.
💪 Body Part Breakdowns
Explore the body piece by piece to learn what exactly makes up the yoga poses and practices you know and love. From the arches of the feet, the details of the spine, to fingers and the wrists - if it’s moving, we’re learning about it!
🧘♀️ How it * actually * applies to Asana (join me in the virtual Pose Lab!)
Deep dives into postures you teach every week like Plank, Downward Dog, Lunges, Twists, Squats, Chaturanga, Locust, and more — so you understand what’s really happening and how you can teach it more effectively starting right now.
🛠 Dip a toe into Biomechanics + Functional Movement
